This message itself frustrates many people, especially when the computer is working fine and they want to use it further. We are seeing the same problem with old laptops that work well but only fail Microsoft’s rules because they don’t have TPM or Secure Boot features.

The good news? You can still install Windows 11 25H2 without any major issues. I’ve tested this myself, and it works more or less flawlessly if you follow the right steps.

Why Windows 11 Doesn’t Support Older PCs

Before discussing the steps, surely a brief explanation is necessary. Moreover, this will help in better understanding of the process.

Windows 11 requires:

• TPM 2.0
• Secure Boot
• Supported CPU

Most older PCs don’t have these, or they’re disabled. That’s why you see the error.

But here’s the thing — these are mostly software restrictions, not hard limitations. Tools like Rufus can bypass them easily.

What You’ll Need

Nothing complicated here.

• A USB drive (at least 8GB)
• Windows 11 25H2 ISO file
• Rufus tool

Check that your USB does not contain important files because the process will erase everything.

Method 1: Install Windows 11 25H2 on Unsupported PC Using Rufus (Recommended)

This is the method I personally prefer. It’s simple, quick, and doesn’t require technical knowledge.

Step 1: Download Windows 11 ISO

First, you should actually download the newest Windows 11 25H2 ISO file from Microsoft’s official website. This step is definitely important for the installation process.

Open your browser. Search for Windows 11 download. Open the official Microsoft website. Scroll to Download Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO).Select Windows 11 Multi-Edition ISO.

Choose your language.

You should surely click on the 64-bit Download option.

Basically, it’s the same as downloading a 7GB file, so it will take time depending on your internet speed.

Step 2: Download Rufus

Now let’s download Rufus, it’s the same tool that creates bootable USB and bypasses Windows 11 restrictions.

open your web browser and type Rufus download in the search bar, then press Enter.

We are seeing many results only, but you must open the official website. This is important to avoid downloading modified or unsafe versions. Look for the official site: https://rufus.ie/en/

when the website opens, you’ll see the same simple page with nothing confusing or messy.

Now scroll down further until you find the Download section itself. Here, you’ll see different versions of Rufus listed. Usually, the first option is the latest version, something like: Rufus 4.x (Standard). Just click on that version to start the download.

The file will surely begin downloading immediately. Moreover, this process starts without any delay. The file size is surely very small, typically under 2 MB. One thing I like about Rufus — no installation required. Just open it and you’re good to go.

Step 3: Insert USB and Open Rufus

Insert your USB drive and launch Rufus.

It should automatically detect your USB under the Device section.

Step 4: Select ISO File

Click on SELECT and further choose the Windows 11 ISO file which you downloaded earlier itself. Once you select Rufus, it will further adjust some settings automatically by itself.

Step 5: Configure Settings

This part is important.

• Partition Scheme:
  • Choose MBR for older systems
  • Choose GPT for newer systems

You can leave most other settings as default.

Step 6: Start and Enable Bypass Options

Click on START.

Now you’ll see a special popup (this is where Rufus becomes powerful).

Make sure to check:

• Remove requirement for TPM 2.0
• Remove requirement for Secure Boot
• Remove requirement for RAM

You can also disable Microsoft account requirement if you want.

Click OK and let Rufus do its job.

Step 7: Boot from USB

Once your USB is actually ready, you should definitely restart your computer. Press the boot menu key which is usually F12, F9, or Esc itself to proceed further.

Select your USB drive.

Now the Windows setup will start.

Follow the normal installation steps:

• Choose language
• Click Install Now
• Select Custom Install
• Choose your drive

What Happens During Installation

Your PC will now start installing Windows 11.

It will restart several times — that’s completely normal.

Surely, this is the stage where one must simply wait. Moreover, no further action is required at this point. As per your system, it can take some time regarding the process.

Once you complete all the steps, you will surely proceed through the initial setup process, moreover, you simply need to follow the instructions displayed on the screen.

And finally, you will only reach the Windows 11 desktop at the end.

That means you actually managed to install Windows 11 25H2 on unsupported PC without TPM or Secure Boot. This definitely means the installation was successful.

Verify Windows Version (Important Step)

Once you’re on the desktop, it’s a good idea to confirm everything worked.

Press Windows + R

Type winver and press Enter

You should see Windows 11 with version 25H2

That’s it — your installation is successful.

Method 2: Upgrade Without USB (Quick Method)

You can mount the ISO file and run the setup directly.

How it works:

• Right-click the ISO file
• Click Mount
• Open setup.exe

But here’s the catch — this method may still show compatibility errors.

To fix that, you need a registry tweak or modified ISO. It’s doable, but honestly, Rufus is much easier.

Things to Keep in Mind

A few practical things from my experience:

Sometimes Windows Update may not work normally on unsupported PCs.
You might not get all future updates (though many users still do).
Performance depends on your hardware — SSD helps a lot.

Still, for most people, it works perfectly fine for daily use.
